Mike Nock Trio and NZTrio Vicissitudes

Jazz and classical music come together when two of Australasia’s best-loved trios join together for a special collaboration of superlative talent. A musical celebration of the worlds of jazz and classical music, Vicissitudes reflects on our shared ability to overcome dire circumstances.

Known for their eclectic programming and radical ‘pairings’, NZTrio (violinist Justine Cormack, cellist Ashley Brown, and pianist Sarah Watkins) are a true fit in this atypical collaboration. The current Mike Nock Trio features bassist Brett Hirst and drummer James Waples, two extraordinarily talented musicians who, alongside the legendary Mike Nock, bring the house down with skillful subtlety.

For one night only in the Glenroy, this is a rare opportunity to encounter six musicians at the top of their game in a programme that sees each award-winning trio perform their own set before taking to the stage together.
