When we aren’t playing we’re often listening to music. We’ve put together a list of a few hidden musical gems that we each recommend. With everything from early music to 70’s hits, it seems that eclectic would be the best way to describe our combined musical taste!

Somi Kim – pianist

I love Keith Jarrett’s live album The Köln Concert 1975. A live recording of solo piano improvisations, it is a mesmerising private mediation between just him and a piano.

Amalia Hall – violinist

I’ve been listening to a “Good Feeling 70s” Spotify playlist when I go for a walk or a run – lots of great tunes to enjoy when the sunshine is out!

Ashley Brown – cellist

My fave album is Peter Gabriel’s “Scratch My Back”. It’s filled with epic orchestral arrangements honouring Gabriel’s favourite songs by other artists.

Jessica Duirs – Manager

The album I’m listening to is “Raising Sand” – Robert Plant & Alison Krauss.  An unlikely union that works so well – evocative and often ethereal, with a bluesy edge.  Fav track is “Killing the Blues”.

Bridget Lynd – Assistant Manager

I’m a huge early music fan and have a number of Jordi Savall albums on repeat. A bit closer to home are Latitude 37, who are group based in Australia, who cover a broad range of music.
