Manager: Jessica Duirs
Jessica brings 7 years of arts administration experience to the role as Manager for NZTrio. With a background in opera, she completed postgraduate studies in voice at The University of Auckland, and has performed in opera choruses and other musical groups for many years. Moving into arts administration at New Zealand Opera in 2012 provided opportunities for expanding her industry networks both in New Zealand and internationally, managing artist contracts across the company, collaborating with partner organisations on mainstage and festival projects, and overseeing concerts and events. Prior to 2012 Jessica worked in academic quality assurance at Unitec, facilitating the maintenance and development of programme regulations and documentation. She balances career and performing with family life and being a mother to two young children. Jessica joined NZTrio as Manager in November 2019.
Assistant Manager: Sue Nelson
Sue hails from a visual arts background and completed a Masters of Arts in Arts Management (1st class hons.) at Whitecliffe College of Arts & Design in 2010. She has worked contractually in the industry with a variety of positions including three years as Creative New Zealand's 21st Century Arts Conference Coordinator, strategic planning assistant at Touch Compass Dance Co., and Producer Marketing and Sales at Indian Ink Theatre. She is currently completing a PostGrad Diploma in Fine Arts at Elam. Sue joined NZTrio as Assistant Manager in 2013.
